IRB APPOINTS WORLD CUP CORPORATE MARKETING COMPANY
14th January 2008
Wellington, Dec 21 NZPA - The International Rugby Board (IRB) has appointed
the same joint venture company to market the corporate hospitality and
travel programmes for the 2011 World Cup in New Zealand.
The joint British venture, Rugby Travel & Hospitality, won the contract
after successfully performing the same role at this year's tournament in
France.
The venture between Sodexho Prestige and the Mike Burton Group was
re-appointed after a tender process.
IRB chief executive Mike Miller said experience would play an important
role over the next four years.
"The company has vast operational experience and a highly professional and
innovative approach," Miller said in a statement.
"They delivered successful travel and hospitality programmes in France this
year and achieved record sales."
Next year Rugby Travel & Hospitality will establish offices in New Zealand
to professionally manage their travel and hospitality programmes.
